Academic Scholarships by SLGS

Objective

The main objective of this program is to financially assist Sri Lankan undergraduate students to pursue their academic endeavours. Our goal is to raise funds for scholarships for students to be awarded monthly for a period of one year. Currently, the SLGS provides two scholarships worth Rs. 120,000. We expect to expand the number of scholarships provided under the program in the future. As a Sri Lankan, you will have great joy and satisfaction in giving back something to your motherland by joining hands with SLGS and contributing to this Scholarship Program.

The annual scholarship program cycle

Funds for the scholarship are collected mainly from the sale of tickets of the Annual Gathering and Dinner Dance organized by the SLGS. However, contributions are accepted throughout the year.

Candidate Selection

SLGS will decide on the University to which scholarships will be granted and the respective Vice Chancellors and deans will be informed to select 10 potential candidates for the scholarship. SLGS will select 02 out of the given 10 potential candidates

Grant scholarships

SLGS will transfer annual scholarship fees to the respective university. Then the scholarships will be granted to the selected students through Bursar of the respective University.
